Angel Cabrera won The Greenbrier Classic in West Virginia on Sunday with a 64 to finish at 16-under par. Cabrera defeated George McNeill, to secure his first non-major victory on the PGA Tour.
The Greenbrier Classic was Cabrera’s first PGA Tour win since the 2009 Masters. McNeill challenged Cabrera, shooting a season-best 61 on Sunday to finish 14-under par. Webb Simpson finished at third place at 10-under par.
Cabrera trailed Billy Hurley III entering the final round. Cabrera’s win was the fifth come-from-behind victory in the five-year history of The Greenbrier Classic according to the PGA Tour.
Hurley shot a 73 to finish tied for fourth, matching his career best. Keegan Bradley, Brendon Todd, Chris Stroud, Cameron Triangale, Will Wilcox and Bud Cauley joined him at 9-under par.
Cauley drained an ace at the 18th hole, which won everyone in attendance a $100.
Cabrera won $1.17 million for his victory in West Virginia according to Yahoo.
Cabrera had zero top 10-finishes on the PGA Tour this season entering the tournament.
