The superstar Ariana Grande is gracing the front page of Seventeen Magazine for its September issue and inside is a bombshell of news about the star as she opens up about how she has fallen out of touch with her father.

The issue that will be hitting newsstands on Aug. 5th contains an interview with Grande where she discusses her falling out with her father reports E! Online. Grande said in the article, “It's private, but it happened last year. It took me so long to be okay with it. The thing that got me there was embracing the fact that that I am made up of half my dad, and a lot of my traits come from him,” admitting that for a while she did not like that so much of him is reflected in her.

It has not been the easiest year for the 21-year-old as her Nickelodeon show Sam & Cat has been cancelled following one season and the most recent passing of her grandfather.

Grande said she needed to accept that it is okay to not get along with a person but still love them. In addition she has learned that it is also okay to not have the answers to everything. It sounds like the pop star sure is growing up and maturing.

She also speaks about her grandfather prior to his passing where she later released a statement saying, “Reading it back now is, of course, very hard but I'm so grateful that I spoke briefly about some of the wisdom he shared with me in this interview. I hope the Seventeen readers find it helpful and can relate.”
