Arizona Cardinals linebacker John Abraham was charged with a DUI late in June in Georgia.

According to Azcentral Sports, Abraham was detained and charged with DUI and stopping, standing or parking in a prohibited place on June 29, near Atlanta.

Abraham had not shown up to the Cardinals training camp this season and according to NFL.com, Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said that Abraham was absent for personal reasons.

However, it is not known if his arrest and his absence are connected.

General manager Steve Keim told Arizona Sports 620, “I’m not concerned at all,” he said. “He’ll be back at some point here.”

This isn’t the first instance where Abraham has been charged with DUI. When he was playing for the New York Jets in 2003, Abraham was arrested after crashing his car on Long Island.

Last year, he told azcentral sports that he learned a valuable lesson from that incident and said he would never do it again.

The NFL could suspend Abraham for his latest actions.

Abraham is the active career leader in sacks in the NFL with 133.5, which is ninth all-time. He is also tied with Jason Taylor for the most career forced fumbles, with 48.
