Hollywood golden couple Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds almost had a disastrous wedding before Martha Stewart stepped in!

Lively spilled to Vogue that the perfect couple’s wedding was almost not so perfect, so they called Martha Stewart to help intervene.

“Our wedding was becoming a disaster, and we didn’t know what to do, so we called Martha,” explained Lively. “She said, ‘Don’t worry. I’ll handle it.’ She sent her team down to save us. And then she called her friends who have a home in South Carolina and set us up at the most amazing getaway. This is the day of our wedding!”

TheCelebrityCafe.com reported Lively and Reynolds’ wedding, which took place in September 2012. The ceremony was held at Boone Plantation in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, which is the same house The Notebook was filmed at. With such a lovely location, it is surprising the wedding almost went wrong. Apparently there was still one big problem at the reception.

“Florence Welch was singing at the reception, and they brought out these sparklers, and I’m watching her sing,” Lively told Vogue. “I look down and my wedding dress has a big burn mark from one of the sparklers. Right on the front! And it was just so heartbreaking to me. And later, my dress was hanging up and Ryan said, ‘Isn’t that beautiful?’ I said, ‘What?’ And he pointed to the burn. My heart just stopped, because it was such a sensitive little subject. And he said, ‘You’ll always remember that moment with Florence singing and the sparklers. You have that forever, right there, preserved.’ Now that’s my favorite part of the dress.”

The purpose of Lively’s interview with Vogue was to talk about her new website. And, no, she is not starting up a real life Gossip Girl. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants star is broadening her career from acting to writing a lifestyle website called Preserve. The web site will give Lively’s selection of favorite products, both for the household and fashion pieces.

Lively is not going far from her acting roots and is currently starring in the upcoming film The Age of Adeline, which will come out in 2015.
