Last night, the Boston Red Sox decimated the Toronto Blue Jays. The final score was the Red Sox 14, and the Blue Jays one.
In the game Ortiz hit two home runs, and as a result he is second all-time with 35 home runs hit at Roger Centre in Toronto. Only Alex Rodriguez has more home runs in that ballpark with 36, proven by CBS Sports.
The statistics just keep pilling up for the Boston slugger. It was the third time this season that Ortiz hit a home run twice in the same game, and the 44th time he hit more than one home run in a game for his career, according to ESPN.
In the same game last night, Ortiz passed Boston legend Carl Yastrzemski into 36th place for home runs hit all-time with 453 on his career. It is a milestone that validates Ortiz as a great home run hitter.
Teammate Mike Napoli praised Big Papi after it was all said and done. Napoli specified that Ortiz deserves to be seen as one of the greats to have ever played the game.
"He's a Hall of Famer in my eyes," Napoli stated.
