The prequel to America's top crime drama TV series Breaking Bad is going to be called Better Call Saul and it is set in the year 2002.
According to Toronto Sun, Better Call Saul is the the highly anticipated prequel to Breaking Bad. The show will feature a sleazy lawyer Saul Goodman as the central character played by celebrity Bob Odenkirk. Saul's brother Chuck is be played by actor Michael McKean. According to the show's executive producer, writer and director Vince Gilligan, “It's like re-inventing the wheel, but sometimes you can re-invent the wheel to a fault. Sometimes re-inventing the wheel is not the most intelligent way of going about it." He also noted, “It's important to us that this not look like a carbon copy of Breaking Bad. We're doing our damndest to make it as different as possible.”

The Washington Post reported that the show’s premiere was originally planned for November and now it has been moved to start airing in early 2015. Vince Gilligan and executive producer Peter Gould are currently busy working on Better Call Saul. They mentioned that the schedule change will ensure quality of the show as well as give them more breathing room to produce and write Better Call Saul. The first season of this show will feature 10 episodes whereas the second season will feature 13 episodes.
