Bryan Singer has won another legal battle. The X-Men: Days of Future Past director has been dismissed from a U.K. teen’s sex abuse lawsuit.
This lawsuit was filed back in May in Los Angeles. The plaintiff, an actor who only went by the name “John Doe” in the suit, claimed that he was abused by Singer at a Superman Returns premiere party. He also sued producer Gary Goddard, who he claimed had sex with him back in 2003. John Doe claimed that Goddard introduced him to Singer.
Then on July 3, Singer filed a motion to have the lawsuit against him dismissed. Today, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that he has been dismissed from the suit.
“We are pleased the case was dismissed,” Singer’s attorney, Marty Singer, told THR.
According to TheWrap, Goddard has also filed a motion to have the case dismissed. However, today’s decision only covered Singer.
The U.K. plaintiff is being represented by Jeff Herman, who has not commented on today’s news. Herman also represents Michael Eagan, who has filed multiple lawsuits against Singer, Goddard, Garth Ancier and David Neuman. Singer and the other Hollywood executives have all denied any wrongdoing.
