Director Bryan Singer has filed a motion to get another sex abuse case against him dismissed. In this case, Singer was accused of abusing a British actor, who has been only identified as “John Doe 117.”
The case was filed in Los Angeles back in May, shortly after Michael Eagan filed his lawsuit against the X-Men: Days of Future Past director.
The John Doe claims that Singer abused him at a Superman Returns premiere party after producer Gary Goddard introduced them. Goddard was also named in Eagan’s lawsuit and the John Doe claims that Goddard abused him in the U.K. Attorney Jeffrey Herman is also representing both plaintiffs.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Singer filed a motion on Thursday to get the Doe suit dismissed. He also wants the actor to file a $300,000 bond, which would cover legal fees.
Goddard has also filed a motion to dismiss and a hearing for both motions is set for Aug. 18.
Egan has four lawsuits on sexual assault pending in Los Angeles. In addition to Singer and Goddard, he’s also suing Garth Ancier and David Neuman, both former Hollywood executives. Egan’s lawsuit against Singer in Hawaii is still alive.
All four defendants have denied the allegations.
