Now that's Carrie Preston is finished with HBO's True Blood, she has lined up her next project: returning to CBS' The Good Wife.

Preston will reprise her role as Elsbeth Tascioni for a guest spot in the sixth season of the popular CBS drama, Entertainment Tonight reports. It hasn't yet been revealed how many episodes the fan-favorite character will appear in.

The actress, who also will appear in HBO's Getting On, won a Guest Actress Emmy award in 2013 for her role as Elsbeth.

According to E! News, the role is quite popular with fans, as it is with Preston. She noted it is "the most incredible role ever."

Preston's character is so popular that fans have been talking about how there should be a spin-off show following Elsbeth. The talk was loud enough that Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King have commented on it.

"We've discussed it internally," Robert previously told the news site. "It always comes down to where you can put your energy. Our worry is that--we're not the kind of showrunners, unfortunately, who can take our eyes off this and do two things at once."

In addition to Preston returning to the show, Taye Diggs is also set for a guest spot on CBS' The Good Wife, which stars Julianna Margulies,
