The Cleveland Cavaliers have dominated sports headlines as of late with their pursuit of trading for All-star big man Kevin Love, but the Chicago Bulls are making their own push at acquiring the Minnesota Timberwolves power forward.
Cleveland believes they are close to inking a deal with Minnesota that would involve 2014 number one overall pick Andrew Wiggins, 2013 number one overall pick Anthony Bennett and a future first-round pick according to ESPN.
Though the Bulls’ offer isn’t known, it is believed that it would include a forward Taj Gibson and defensive stud Jimmy Butler in addition to other assets.
The Bulls become the Cavaliers biggest competitor for Love, now that the Golden State Warriors are apparently unwilling to trade guard Klay Thompson according to USA Today. According to the report the Warriors value Thompson’s defense in the backcourt, and feel that Love isn’t a two-way player.
The Timberwolves are in no rush to move Love, especially now that the Bulls have entered the race. The Timberwolves could start a bidding war for Love, who averaged a double-double last season.
