However, Colfer’s manager has told The Hollywood Reporter that this information is false and that Colfer will be returning for the sixth and final season of Glee. According to Colfer’s manager, the actor’s Twitter account was hacked and he is traveling and unable to update his account.
Entertainment Weekly reports that 20th Century Fox also issued a statement confirming that Colfer will be back when Glee returns. The statement said, “We’ve been alerted that Chris Colfer’s Twitter account has been hacked. Rumors of his dismissal from Glee could not be further from the truth. We love Chris and look forward to working with him again this season.”
Glee was not included in Fox’s fall lineup and Broadway World reports that the series will not return until 2015. According to The Hollywood Reporter however, an episode count and return date have not been announced although it is rumored that the show’s 22 episode season will be shortened.
