Fifty Shades of Grey actress Dakota Johnson doesn’t want her parents to watch her act in the eagerly anticipated 'romance' film.

Johnson plays the role of innocent protagonist Anastasia Steele in the film adaption of E.L. James’ highly successful erotic Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy. Anastasia hooks up with successful young billionaire Christian Grey to form an unorthodox and destructive BDSM relationship. The books (and film) chronicle the couple’s ups and downs with plenty of steamy scenes in between.

In a new interview with The Today Show Johnson announces her discomfort with the idea of her family seeing her star in the erotic film. “I think that probably…no. Not at all,” Johnson responded when asked about having her parents see the flick. “I mean, if it were them doing the movie, I wouldn’t want to see that.”

As for filming the considerable amount of sex scenes in the movie, Johnson maintains that the work was far from romantic. “It’s not like a romantic situation. It’s more…like technical and choreographed and…more of a task,” she laughs.

Jamie Dornan, the man who plays Christian Grey in the film, says that trust was just as important as on-screen chemistry while filming the riskier sequences. “We got ourselves into situations that don't feel that, sort of, natural and they're not that easy,” he says.

The Fifty Shades trailer was released early last week to mixed reactions from the public.

The film is set to premiere on Valentine’s Day 2015.
