“Danny is an integral part of our offense,” Chargers general manager Tom Telesco said. “His work ethic and on-field production were key elements last year. We look forward to having him be a part of the Chargers organization into the future.”
Before joining San Diego in 2013, Woodhead spent three seasons with the New England Patriots, playing alongside quarterback Tom Brady. He ended up getting cut by the team, which allowed him to sign with the Chargers.
Woodhead began his NFL career with the New York Jets. The Jets signed him immediately following the 2008 NFL Draft. After miss his entire first season, he played in 10 games for Gang Green before being released at the end of the 2009 season, according to vavel.com .
