Clearly Elisabeth Hasselbeck wouldn’t agree, but another Rosie O’Donnell nemesis Donald Trump surprisingly thinks ABC made the right move by bringing her back to The View.
On the heels of Hasselbeck’s controversial comments and ABC’s official announcement that O’Donnell would be joining moderator Whoopi Goldberg for the show’s 18th season, Trump had to get his two cents in as well.
“I think it’s a good move on ABC’s part. It’ll have a short term positive effect,” he told NY Daily News’ Confidenti@l. “The show has really missed not having Barbara (Walters) on it. With that said, it’ll have a short term positive impact, but then you have the long term. Rosie always self-destructs.”
Trump went on to say he knows he will get a call from ABC to return to the show next season to face-off with O’Donnell again and he “would go on” the show. “It would be the hottest show of the week. I’m the first one they’ll think of,” he said.
He hammered in on the fact he clearly dislikes O’Donnell, referring to her leaving the show unexpectedly in 2007 after her on-air fight with Hasselbeck.
“I think she’s got a great agent – anyone with so many failures that can go back again and again is amazing to me,” he said.
