Donald Trump likes to weigh on anything he can and with the news of Rosie O'Donnell returning to ABC's The View, he couldn't wait to jump in and offer snarky commentary.

"I think it's a good move on ABC's part," Trump offered at first before launching into his true feelings on the matter with Confidenti@l. "It'll have a short term positive effect."

He added, "But then you have the long term. Rosie always self-destructs," and noted that despite her "many failures" she is able to continue reappearing, though he places that on the fact that she must have a "great agent."

Trump also explained that he expects ABC to reach out and invite him to appear on The View so he can go toe-to-toe with O'Donnell. And he admits he would totally do it.

Well, of course, it's Trump, anything that'll get him attention.

Since ABC's confirmation that O'Donnell, a former co-host, would be returning to the struggling daytime talk show, she has been fighting criticism, though mostly from angry former co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

At first the conservative co-host of Fox & Friends smelled conspiracy saying that O'Donnell's return was long in the works. She didn't stop there, later blasting her return, saying "Here in comes to The View the very woman who spit in the face of our military ... her own network" and a friend who supported her after the 2007 comments.

ABC is probably loving all this knowing it will likely boost ratings for the 18th season of The View when it returns in September.
