Elisabeth Hasselbeck is keeping the reality show that is the behind-the-scenes politics of The View going. Even though ABC’s announcement that Rosie O’Donnell is returning did confirm her comments on Fox & Friends this week, she also reignited the feud between the two.
During her phone-in interview on Fox News Wednesday, Hasselbeck responded to rumors of O’Donnell’s return and confirmed that they were true. However, she couldn’t leave it at that and took more shots at O’Donnell.
“Here in comes to The View the very woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network and really in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilized debates for the time that she was there,” she said.
Of course, those comments angered O’Donnell and Joy Behar too, who probably just didn’t want to feel left out.
While ABC’s Thursday announcement could have been the end of the drama, it obviously wasn’t going to be. Overnight, Hasselbeck went on Instagram - an app to share pictures - to share a handwritten note that included written out hashtags.
“I don’t hate Rosie,” Hasselbeck wrote, noting that she called her seven years ago, but didn’t get a response. “I am happy to have a #momversation about why I would never defend her 2007 comments below,” she wrote.
Hasselbeck also warned viewers that shen The View brings in two more new faces, she will also “provide my analysis.” In other words, this isn’t over.
