Emily Hampshire and Tom Noonan have been cast in two key recurring roles in the upcoming Syfy small screen adaptation of Terry Gilliam's 12 Monkeys.
Hampshire, who had a guest role on Rookie Blue, will play Jennifer Goines, an unstable mental patient who might be involved in the central mystery surrounding the plague that kills nearly everyone on Earth, Deadline exclusively reports.
Fans of the movie might recognize the last name. The character is a female version of Jeffrey Goines, played by Brad Pitt in the film.
Noonan is playing a character created for the miniseries who is said to be the mysterious face behind the Army of the 12 Monkeys.
The pair join the already cast Aaron Stanford as Bruce Willis' Cole, Amanda Schull as Dr. Cassandra Railly, Kirk Acevedo as Ramse and Noah Bean as Aaron Marker.
In April, Syfy announed the network had put in a 13-episode series order for the miniseries. The series is being executive produced by Richard Suckle, Jake Kurily and Charles Roven. The pilot episode was written by Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett. Natalie Chaidez is serving as showrunner.
Production on 12 Monkeys is set to begin Aug. 6 in Toronto.
