Bob Hastings who featured in the 1960s sitcom McHale's Navy died at a good age of 89 on June 30, 2014. Fans, friends and people all over the world who knew Hastings for his talent paid a tribute to his passing away.
According to the L.A. Times, Hastings' family announced that he died on Monday of prostate cancer at his Burbank home. Hastings was a radio actor who eventually entered the television industry. He was famous for portraying "yes man" Lt. Elroy Carpenter on McHale's Navy. He also featured in in Coast-to-Coast on a Bus, The National Barn Dance, The Sea Hound and other tv shows. He served in the Army Air Forces as a B-29 navigator during the second world war and then returned back to radio work.

According to Chicago Tribune, Hastings is survived by his wife of 66 years, brother, four children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
