Weren’t DC Comics and Warner Bros. supposed to announce a full slate of future movies at the San Diego Comic-Con this year? Now that the biggest pop culture event of the year is over, we now know that the studio didn’t have much planned for this year. The biggest revelation turned out to be Wonder Woman’s costume.

Yes, as we previously reported, actors Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot and Henry Cavill were paraded out to get the crowd screaming. However, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder had nothing else to offer beyond a picture of Gadot in costume. He did show a sizzle teaser reel to get the audience even more excited, but it wasn’t much more than shots of Superman and Batman staring at each other with rain and the bat-signal behind them.

However, nothing else of substance was announced. While Dwayne Johnson is practically begging DC and WB to make an official announcement about Shazam! casting, he wasn’t there. Johnson even sent out a tweet before the convention started.

In addition, no further DC Comics movies were announced, although we were hoping for several. A confirmation of when that Justice League movie is coming out would have been nice.

Obviously, DC didn’t really have to announce anything. After all, Dawn of Justice won’t be out until May 2016. There’s another Comic-Con next year, but for DC, 2014 will go down in the history books as the year nothing was announced.

But at least we got to see what Gadot looks like in the Wonder Woman costume.
