University of Georgia defensive lineman Jonathan Taylor was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with felony aggravated assault. This was his second arrest of the offseason, making a suspension this season more likely.
University of Georgia police chief Jimmy Williamson said police determined that Taylor was a “primary aggressor” in the early morning domestic violence incident that occurred at McWhorter Hall according to Athens Banner-Herald.
University of Georgia police and ems were dispatched at 2:47 in the morning to meet a possible victim. Williamson said there was evidence that the female victim was “possibly strangled by the offender,” in due to visible signs of injuries around her neck. The police determined that Taylor and the victim had a relationship and “co-habitation.”
Taylor was also arrested and charged in March of this year along with three other Georgia football players for theft by deception according to ESPN. The players were accused of “double-dipping” student stipend checks that were issued by the UGA athletic Association.
Taylor is listed as the third string nose tackle on the Bulldog’s depth chart.
