High school basketball prospect Jalen Adams commits to UCONN. He is a top 50 recruiting prospect coming from Cushing Academy, Massachusetts. He is a bright young talent who was pursued by other great basketball programs such as Louisville and Kansas. He ultimately chose UCONN over those schools because of his relationship with the Connecticut school and his style of play on the court.
“The relationship I built with the coaching staff made it feel like a family and made me feel like they all had my best interest at heart. Plus the style of play fits me well,” Adams said, according to CBS Sports.
Adams’ AAU coach Vinny Pastore commented on the highly sought out prospect. Pastore felt Adams would feel right at home with UCONN. Also, he said Adams has always wanted to go to the school that lets guards play the way they want with a short leash.
"It's just a perfect fit for him. Their style of play, the tradition they have of developing guards to play free. I think Jalen has always wanted to go to UConn, and they recruited him the entire time," said Pastore, reported by ESPN.
After Huskies guard Shabazz Napier was selected in this years NBA draft, recruiting Adams was a smart move. It allows UCONN to develop another guard in a system that is known to mold them into NBA future draft picks. Adams is looking to make an immediate impact as soon as he steps on to the court.
