The Houston Rockets have reportedly offered Chris Bosh a max deal as they try to lure him away from Miami to come play alongside James Harden and Dwight Howard.
A source familiar with the situation spoke with USA Today and said that the deal would be for four years and between $80 million and $90 million. The contract would be sweetened by Texas not having an income tax, though that's no different than Florida.
According to ESPN, who first learned of the offer, Bosh could likely be seriously considering the offer from Houston as the Heat want to pay him a similar amount, but over a five-year period.
The Rockets have vowed to be more aggressive in free agency, with their eyes set on Bosh as Carmelo Anthony seemingly had no interest for the very same offer, with his likely current destinations either moving to the Los Angeles Lakers or sitting pat and rebuilding with the New York Knicks.
Should Bosh decide to move on from Miami, the Rockets would have to likely jettison Jeremy Lin and his somewhat bloated contract to clear cap space.
The 6-foot-11 forward who turned 30 this year averaged 16.2 points and 6.6 rebounds with the Heat during the 2013-14 season.
