How I Met Your Mother fans might still be hoping that How I Met Your Dad happens, but they really have to stop. HIMYM co-creator Carter Bays is adamant that there is no work being done on the spin-off and CBS chief Nina Tassler again reiterated that there were parts about it that didn’t gel.
CBS officially passed on HIMYD back in May, even as rumors suggested that the show got a full series pick-up. Well, that didn’t happen obviously because it’s not on the Fall 2014 schedule.
Even two months later though, fans hadn’t forgotten about the show and there were more rumors that it would be revived. However, Bays stressed on Twitter that the show really is dead.
I don't know why I keep reading articles about this, but since nobody bothers asking us: We are really, truly not working on HIMYD anymore.

“Some things about this worked, some things didn't,” Tassler told reporters at the TV Critics Association press tour today, reports The Associated Press. Then, as if to tease everyone, she reminded the media that The Big Bang Theory required two pilots before it finally worked.
Still, it really, really looks like the series is dead. Even with Meg Ryan as the narrator and Frances Ha star Greta Gerwig as the lead, it just didn’t work. At least it means Gerwig can go back to being an indie film darling.
