For a fake prince, dreams sure do come true as Matthew Hicks, the star of Fox’s cancelled reality show I Wanna Marry Harry, is still in contact with his own princess.

The New York Post reveals that the winner, Kimberly Birch from Long Island, was not really all that surprised when she learned that ‘Harry’ was really a ‘Matt.’ Birch recounted on how to such drastic lengths the show would go to in trying to convince the girls they were possibly dating royalty but she saw through it and she says, “But when we would spend time together, I noticed how normal and down-to-earth he was. For me it became harder and harder to believe that he actually was [Prince Harry].”

While the show filmed last August and September and despite the long distance, the two continued talking as soon as the cameras were shut off. Birch even comments that Hicks will be coming to New York in two months time to visit but the couple Skype, FaceTime and talk as best as they can.

Birch is still in shock and happiness that Hicks chose her at the end of the show and is so pleased with how things have been going. In a Facebook post in June, there is a photo of Birch smiling at the television as it shows her and Matt, moments after his reveal with the caption, “One of the happiest moments of my life!”
