Harry Potter is coming back and this time in the form of a new short story written by author J.K. Rowling.
The Associated Press reported the story was posted to the Pottermore website on Tuesday and fans would be able to see Harry Potter all grown up. However, a spokesman for Rowling, Mark Hutchinson, denied there are any plans in the works for a new novel for the popular book series.
Her short story is 1,500 words and takes place at the Quidditch World Cup final, joined by his friends Ron and Hermione, as well as his family.
Rowling wrote her style in the manner of the book’s character, Rita Skeeter, as she pokes fun at the actual press, who the author feels has invaded the lives of her family in the past.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new story will allow fans to see what is going on with the Hogwarts gang and give them a glimpse of the next generation of kids.
The story centers on the Quidditch World Cup in 2014 and it goes on to describe the gang, including Potter, who is nearly 34 and has “threads of silver” hair in his otherwise dark locks of hair. Plus, he has a scar on his cheekbone, most likely from his work as an auror.
Ron Weasley also has a description, saying his hair is “thinning slightly.”
The final article for the Cup will be published onto the Pottermore site on July 11.
