Jared Padaleck and Jensen Ackles, the stars of Supernatural, along with executive producer Jeremy Carver say they could see The CW series continue for a long time.

Speaking at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Friday, all three said they would enjoy more seasons of the long-running series provided the quality remains high, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Should the show slide in quality, then they would definitely like to be in control of how ends. "We know the show enough and know the characters enough - if there's an end coming, we'll see it and won't have to push it," Padalecki said. "When it's time to hang up the Sam Winchester hat, then I'll welcome that chapter."

He noted that he has been working on the show for nine years "so I don't want him to be broken down and beaten down into something that I do not respect. And I respect this character, and I respect this show."

Ackles backed him up and noted that he said that they all "still get excited about it, and that hasn't tarnished in 10 years." Carver also insisted that there is still plenty to cover in the world of Supernatural. "We're very excited to keep telling more stories."

Also at the TCA, CW chief Mark Pedowitz told everyone that while a spinoff for the series hasn't happened yet, he still very much would like to get one off the ground.

The most recent one, Bloodlines didn't end up getting kicked up, but Pedowitz isn't deterred and would like to see one eventually get made.
