Comedian Joan Rivers defended Israel when she was confronted by paparazzi about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict outside of LAX.
A cameraman from TMZ captured Joan’s passionate message to the media and to the world.
“If New Jersey were firing rockets into New York, we would wipe ‘em out,” the Fashion Police host said. “If we heard they were digging tunnels from New Jersey to New York, we would get rid of Jersey.”
When asked about the Palestinian civilian casualties, Joan explained what she believes the media has not sufficiently addressed—that Hamas stashes weapons in private homes, leaving Israel with no other choice but to fight in these areas. And, that Israel warns these civilians in advance that they are coming to destroy the weapons.
“Don’t you dare put weapon stashes in private homes, and then we say get out, of course we’re gonna do it.”
Joan ended expressing her disappointment in the media for misrepresenting the conflict and Israel’s actions, stating that the BBC and CNN should be “ashamed of themselves.”
Currently, Israel and Hamas have agreed to a 12-hour ceasefire to begin Saturday, according to the Associated Press.
