Julianne Hough seems to be getting really serious with her boyfriend, Brooks Laich. She’s even revealing why her relationship with Ryan Seacrest didn’t work out and why this new one has a chance of going the distance.
The former Dancing with the Stars star split from the American Idol host in March 2013, and she started dating Laich in December of the same year.
Hough told Redbook of previous relationships, including the one she had with Seacrest, “Every relationship, there was nothing wrong or bad, but there was nothing right. I had one foot out because I didn’t want to get hurt.”
She added, “I didn’t say what was on my mind because I didn’t want to ruffle any feathers. I needed to be perfect. But now I’m not holding anything back, because I’d rather get my heart broken than never know what it is to be completely, madly in love. If I had been this open in my last relationship, who knows?”
Us Weekly reports Hough dated Seacrest for almost three years. She also revealed she went to a seminar with her family after the split and had an “epiphany” about relationships. “By the end I was on a high,” she said.
