Pop singer Justin Bieber will be paying $80,900 restitution due to the damage he caused to his former neighbor’s mansion by eggs he threw CNN reports.
Wednesday morning the misdemeanor charge was filed by the Los Angeles County District attorney.
Bieber accepted a plea deal that put the vandalism case to rest, but he will be on probation for two years.
According to CNN, the probation will be supervised until Bieber completes 12 weekly anger management sessions, works five days of community labor and pays the restitution.
Moreover, a sheriff's investigator recommended that the case should be prosecuted as a felony.
Assistant District Attorney Alan Yochelson thinks otherwise.
Yochelson called it "an extremely immature and silly act" that caused "incredible amount of damage" to what the neighbors considered their "dream house," told CNN.
It may just be a silly prank, but Bieber is required to stay at least 100 yards way from the victim's family.
Bieber must also report to his probation officer if he is deported. If the pop singer fails to do so, he will have to leave the country, said Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Leland Harris.
But it seems as if Justin Bieber may have gotten off easy. CNN indicated that the vandalism case is what lawyers call a "wobbler,” which means that the district attorney could have impeached it as a felony. The consequences would have been much more harsher for the singer.
Bieber since then sold the mansion to Khloe Kardashian.
