Justin Bieber has been let off the hook in the case of his flight where himself, his father and friends were flying into New Jersey to see the Super Bowl earlier this year.
E! News reports that the Federal Aviation Administration confirmed they were closing the investigation where the passengers were smoking an excess amount of marijuana that crew members needed oxygen masks and also mistreating flight attendants to the point that they hid near the cockpit to avoid abuse.
Daily Mail reports that the captain needed to warn passengers that they needed to their harassing behavior to the flight attendant after several incidents and when they refuse, the attendant stayed near the pilot to avoid further issues. Even when opening the tarmac on arrival in New Jersey, the smoke was incredibly dense, making it difficult to breathe. Drug-sniffing dogs were sent on board but came up empty.
It is pretty lucky that Bieber is getting off easy as FAA regulations say that 'No person may assault, threaten, intimidate, or interfere with a crew member in the performance of the crew member's duties aboard an aircraft,” with a civil statute facing penalties of $11,000 to $27,500 and under a criminal one facing a maximum of 20 years in prison and fines up to $250,000.
