Everything Kim Kardashian touches turns to gold and that now includes mobile apps. The Kim Kardashian: Hollywood game has become a money-printing machine for Glu Mobile Inc., which has reportedly made $200 million this year from that game alone.
“It might be our biggest game of the year,” Glu CEO Niccolo de Masi told Bloomberg. “We’re not surprised. Kim is a one-of-a-kind talent with an incredibly precise fit to the game engine that we tailored but already had in the company.”
The game is a moneymaker just like many other hits in the mobile app market. While you can download it and play most of the game for free, add-ons within the game can cost as much as $99.99 for virtual bonuses. Apparently, Kim fans have a lot of disposable income.
The app is currently among the Top 10 in the Apple App store and fans love it. It has a 5-star rating average from reviewers.
So how much does Kim stand to make from the game? According to TMZ’s sources, she has an 45 percent cut of the net profits. Take into account that the operating expenses of the app are just $10 million and that means that Kim earned $85.5 million just from the app.
It looks like baby North West is going to get some extravagant presents this Christmas.
