The Los Angeles Lakers have resigned shooting guard Xavier Henry to a one-year deal.
Henry, 23, is coming off his best season in the NBA after being drafted with the 12th overall pick by Memphis back in 2010.
According to ESPN, Henry will sign for the veteran's minimum, which is good for $1,063,384.
Xavier has had a lot of expectations placed on him since his high school days, when he was considered on of the top recruits in the country. After spending a year at the University of Kansas, Henry entered the NBA, where he had limited success in his first three seasons.
Last season however, the Lakers took chances on several first round draft picks who had not lived up to expectations. Despite the Lakers abysmal season, Henry was a pleasant surprise. The 6'6 sharp shooter averaged a career high in points (10) rebounds (2.7) and assists (1.2) per game.
Henry could receive solid minutes as a reserve, as Kobe Bryant's minutes will have to be limited as he is coming off a knee injury which caused him to miss nearly all of the 2013-2014 season.
Henry introduced himself to league when he had a breakout game earlier in the season against the Clippers.
