Carlos Boozer is now heading to the Los Angeles Lakers after the West Coast team bid the highest to acquire the former Chicago Bulls forward.

As previously reported, in a widely expected move, the Bulls amnestied Boozer to try and save $16.8 million against the cap.

His large contract made him the most expendable target, especially as Taj Gibson proved more worthy of playing time, as the Bulls looked for a way to sign both free agent Pau Gasol and overseas player Nikola Microtic.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the Lakers put in the highest blind bid for the 32-year-old forward, but the amount isn't known yet, but is likely around $3 million.

It also isn't know how many other teams tried to acquire Boozer, but it is believed shortly after his release that the Charlotte Hornets would likely bid for him.

Boozer has averaged 16.6 points and 9.8 rebounds over his career, but dipped to 13.7 points and 8.3 rebounds during the 2013-14 season.

By picking up Boozer, the Lakers are quite full of big men, and the team also might sign Ryan Kelly and recently added Ed Davis.
