Lil Wayne is reportedly expanding his Young Money empire beyond the music business. He is going to start a sports management company, starting with Portugal soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo as his first client.
Sources for TMZ, which first reported the news, say that Weezy has been interested in launching the company and had hoped his friend Ronaldo would be his first client. Now, it looks like that dream is coming true and the new Young Money branch will work with Polaris Sports, the firm Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes works under.
Lil Wayne’s company would handle Ronaldo’s U.S. deals, including endorsements and even modeling.
Ronaldo is one of the most famous soccer (or football) players in the world. Although Portugal failed to make it out of Group play in the 2014 World Cup, he did help Real Madrid have another successful Champions League season, notes The Independent.
Wayne and Ronaldo haven’t commented on the report, but Ronaldo did tweet a picture of Japanese politicians showing the Young Money sign.
