Manhattan debuted to decent ratings on Sunday night considering the series is airing through WGN America, but still fell shy of recent original series Salem's numbers.
The period drama, starring John Benjamin Hickey and Rachel Brosnahan, drew 1.8 million total viewers spread across three telecasts, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The premiere airing was watched by 900,000 viewers.
While 1.8 million isn't a bad haul form WGN, Salem, which has already been renewed for a second season, premiered to 2.3 million viewers.
Of those that tuned in to watch Manhattan on Sunday night, 459,000 were in the advertiser-important 18-49 demographic.
WGN is somewhat limited as it currently is only a single-feed and reaches only 71.4 million homes across the United States, Deadline reports. The series also did debut on 33 markets where Tribune, the company that owns WGN, has stations.
With live+same day ratings out, the network is likely most interested in live+3, which boosted Salem's numbers 56 percent.
