Marcin Gortat has received a huge payday from the Washington Wizards. Gortat will earn $60 million over a five-year span, and it is all guaranteed. After having a successful playoff run, the Wizards decided to bring back their Center that gave them a chance to compete on such a high level this post season. Teammate John Wall could not wait to break the news to the basketball world. He is excited the big man is staying in the nations capitol.

According to ESPN, Gortat averaged 13.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game during his first season with the Wizards. He is a vital part in the teams’ progress and also his down low presence is a rare commodity to find in todays NBA game. There is not that many true big men left because the game has changed so much over the years.
Even though it took the man in the middle a while to get adjusted to his new team in Washington, he became one of the most outgoing players on the squad this past season, reported by The Washington Post.
