Milwaukee Brewer Jean Segura was hit with tragedy after learning his nine-month-old son passed away on Friday in the Dominican Republic.
The sad news came after the Brewers dropped a game 7-6 against the St. Louis Cardinals at Miller Park. The game was decided by a two-out home run by Matt Holliday off closer Francisco Rodriguez.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said one of the players’ wivers passed along the sad news to one of Segura’s teammates according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “Seggy's mom and uncle are here. We got word at the end of the game through his mom to one of the wives, and then the wife to her husband, and then to Seggy.”
Specific details about his son’s exact illness and how long he had been dealing with the condition are unclear. The Brewers placed Segura on the bereavement list, and followed by calling Elian Herrera from the Tripple-A Nashville Sounds until he returns.
The 2013 All-Star was hitting .232 with 16 extra-base hits and 15 stolen bases.
