The Minnesota Viking's tight end Kyle Rudolph has agreed to a new five-year deal.
ESPN reports that it is worth $36.5 million, $19.4 million guaranteed, with the possibility of be worth close to $40 million.
Out of his guaranteed money, $6.5 million will be a signing bonus and $960,000 will be his base salary this year. He will get the remaining $12 million as an injury-only guarantee that he will receive if his remains on the Vikings roster on the third day of the season, according to CBS Sports.
In a statement released by the Vikings, Rudolph said that he was happy the contract was completed and that he can continue playing for the Vikings.
“I love the fans, the community and, most importantly, I’m excited about where this team is going. I’m looking forward to the 2014 season and helping this organization reach our ultimate goal.”
His salary cap hit will make him the fifth-highest paid tight end behind Jimmy Graham, Rob Gronkowski, Jason Whitten and Vernon Davis.
In his three seasons in the NFL, Rudolph has 109 receptions, 1,055 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns in 39 games.
Last season, he missed eight games with a fractured left foot, but still finished third in receptions for the team.
