Hockey fans, get your televisions warmed up. NBC announced the nationally televised games for the 2014-15 NHL season.
There will be a total of 103 games. Fourteen of them will be on NBC, while the remaining 89 will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network (NBCSN). Every contest will also be available online on NBC Sports Live Extra.
One of the highlights will be the 2015 NHL Winter Classic, which will pit the Chicago Blackhawks against the Washington Capitals on New Year’s Day.
Of the 15 playoff matches from this past season, 14 of them will be featured on either NBC or NBCSN, reports Yahoo Sports .
The Blackhawks lead the way with 20 of their 82 games nationally televised. The first of these games will be at home against the Philadelphia Flyers on Oct. 21 on NBCSN. Two of their showdowns with the Los Angeles Kings will be on NBCSN. These two teams have won four of the last five Stanley Cups and met in an epic seven-game Western Conference Final last year, according to wrex.com.
The Pittsburgh Penguins follow with 19 games on the national television slate. The Boston Bruins have 17 and are followed by the Flyers with 16 and the Detroit Red Wings with 15.
