Yesterday, the women squared off for the Wimbledon title making Petra Kvitova the winner over Eugenie Bouchard. Today the men faced off and it didn’t end as fast as the women’s game. Novak Djokovic faced seven-time Wimbledon winner, Roger Federer. Federer was going for the oldest winner of the Wimbledon title but lost to Djokovic. The final’s ending score was 6-7(7-9),6-4,7-6 (7-4),5-7,6-4 giving Djokovic his seventh major title.

Djokovic had a 41-0 record in the beginning of the season and even won three Grand Slam events out of four. His season has now ended with a record of 70-6. However, he wasn’t doing so hot coming into the Wimbledon final. The Serb had lost four major tittles out of five almost giving him the title of losing four major finals in a row according to USA Today. Lucky for him, the game didn’t end that way. Djokovic was able to tire out Federer in the third set leaving Federer broken. In the final game, Djokovic finished Federer taking the Wimbledon men’s title. Out of the 35 times the two have met, Federer holds the most wins making it 18-17 but out of the last seven matches, Djokovic won five according to The New York Times. This was their second meeting at a Grand Slam and on a grass court.
