Free-agent C.J. Miles has agreed to a four-year, $18 million contract with the Indiana Pacers.
Mills isn’t the only player that the Pacers have signed. The Pacers have signed undrafted rookie Shayne Whittington to a one-year deal. They have also reached a deal with Croatian Damjan Rudez, according to Yahoo Sports. Lance Stephenson, who is a free agent, has yet to resign with the Pacers. The team is working on resigning him.
Tuesday night Miles had dinner with Pacers president Larry Bird. He talked about the meeting with Bird on Twitter afterwards.
"an unbelievable experience to sit down with one of the greatest players to ever play this game I love .. The legend himself,” Miles tweeted.
Miles was with the Cleveland Cavaliers last season. He played in 51 games and averaged 9.9 points a game, and shot 39 percent from three-point range, which is a career best, according to the Indianapolis Star. In nine seasons in the NBA he has averaged 8.9 points a game.
Rudez, who is a good shooter, shot 44 percent from three-point range in the ACB season and 52 percent from three-point range in the Euro Cup, according to Yahoo Sports. Rudez was undrafted in the 2008 NBA draft, so he’s eligible to sign as a free agent.
Miles won’t be able to sign the contract until July 10.
