After a one-year stint with the Brooklyn Nets, future hall-of-famer Paul Pierce is heading to Washington to join the Wizards.
Pierce will sign a two-year $11 million deal with Washington, according to ESPN.com. He will immediately bring a veteran presence to a very young, up and coming team. John Wall, Bradley Beal and company will enjoy the stability “The Truth” brings.
Let’s be honest with ourselves: the experiment that was the 2013-14 Nets was an epic failure. They struggled off the bat, rebounded very well to close the regular season strong, but when that team will be looked at through the history books many years from now the major sentiment will be that of a failure.
ESPN has learned that Pierce will sign a two-year deal with the Wizards at the mid-level exception with a player option entering Year 2

When a team that already consisted of Deron Williams, Brook Lopez and Joe Johnson brings in two legends in Pierce and Kevin Garnett, it immediately becomes NBA Championship or bust.
Former Brooklyn coach Jason Kidd bolted for Milwaukee and now Pierce does the same for our nation’s capital. Pierce, in essence, becomes the Wizards’ replacement for free-agent Trevor Ariza who signed with the Houston Rockets.
