It has been said time and time again but Peter Jackson’s episode of BBC’s Doctor Who may finally be happening.

As the infamous Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit director comes to an end with his series, the time may finally be right for him to take his turn working on one of his favorite television shows.

Show creator Steven Moffat spoke with SFX about the possible arrangement and said, ““He’s still incredibly busy on The Hobbit. I’ve spoken to him face to face, and he would like to do one. He accepts that there’s no money and that there’s no time, and it would have to be when he’s available – and I don’t think he’s even been available enough to answer our emails of late! I think it will probably happen at some point.”

The Hollywood Reporter notes that just last year Moffat said that Jackson’s only requested form of payment is his own personal Dalek, one of the main characters arch-nemeses on the show. Despite already having two of his own, Jackson had toyed with the idea of a plot involving the New Zealand national rugby team, the All Blacks.

Following the release of the final Hobbit film in December, Jackson’s only other projects include producing the two Tintin films with the first one, The Adventures of Tintin: Prisoners of the Sun, which will be released in 2016.
