Little Prince George teeters his way around a butterfly exhibition in a new official photo taken by royal photographer John Stillwell to celebrate his first birthday.
Prince George’s birthday is on July 22. According to Us Weekly, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge headed to the “Sensational Butterflies” exhibition in London on July 2 to snap the photo, as Kate is a patron of the Natural History Museum.
The picture features an adorably smiley Prince George wobbling his way to Stillwell behind the camera. He wore denim overalls over a navy blue t-shirt. His blonde hair is probably from his father, William, though his warm brown eyes are definitely from his mother’s side of the family!
Stillwell, photographer for the Press Association wire in the UK, spoke to People about the special event. As for being chosen to take the portrait, he remarked that he was “really honored to be asked to do it.”

How did Prince George fare throughout the photo shoot? “He was quick on his feet,” said Stillwell. “I was kneeling down to take the picture and he was on top of me as soon as he started walking. He was very quick. He looked really steady on his feet." Who wouldn’t want to get tackled by the apparently rambunctious and very adorable newest member of the British Royal family?
Happy first birthday, Prince George!
