Wide receiver Roddy White agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension on Thursday. He is now signed through the 2018 season.

According to ESPN, the deal is worth up to $30 million with $18 million over the next two seasons. White had expected to get an extension before the start of training camp on Friday. He might not have shown up to training camp if a deal wasn’t done.

"I always wanted to be back in Atlanta,'' White said.”Once we got to the guaranteed money that I wanted to get to that I felt would secure my future as a football player, then I could sign a contract.”

He went on to add,” When we got it done, I was happy, because I don't want to go anywhere. I love this place. I wanted to be here. And I'm going to be here for the next four years.''

White, who has been in the NFL since 2005, is a four-time Pro Bowler. He had six seasons of more than 1,000 receiving yards and has had at least 100 catches in a season twice, according to Fox Sports. Last season he missed three games due to ankle and hamstring injuries. He had 63 catches and 711 receiving yards last season. Over the final five games he had 43 catches for 502 yards and two touchdowns.

White has 685 career receptions and 9,436 career yards receiving, which are team records, according to the Associated Press. He ranks eighth in career receptions and fifth in yards receiving. He is tenth in the NFL in touchdown catches with 55.

The Falcons begin training camp on Friday and are trying to come back from a 4-12 season last year.
