A familiar face may be joining Whoopi Goldberg as a host on The View.
A source told TMZ that Rosie O’Donnell has officially joined The View. Earlier this week, O’Donnell was in talks to join the show and her negotiations were nearly completed by the end of the day Monday. According to The Guardian Liberty Voice, the show will announce the addition sometime next week.
In addition to bringing Rosie O’Donnell on the show, The View is also looking for two other co-hosts to add to their panel. The show hopes to bring in a Latina and a conservative co-host. TMZ reports that two conservative candidates, Abby Huntsman and Margaret Hoover are being considered. The Guardian Liberty Voice also says that former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is another possibility. It is reported by The Guardian Liberty Voice that O’Donnell will have a say in who the new co-hosts are.
Rosie O’Donnell is not stepping onto unfamiliar territory with her return to The View. O’Donnell was brought on as a co-host from 2006 to 2007 but did not complete her contract because she did not get along with former co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck. O’Donnell returned to the show as a guest in February and also honored The View creator Barbara Walters when she left the series.
