Although the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is one of numerous decades, the recent mass deaths in Gaza have been gaining temporary attention world-wide, including Americans such as Selena Gomez.
She posted a pic on Instagram yesterday (Sunday) reading "It's about humanity. Pray for Gaza".

The post has gained over 530,000 likes since, but as with any conflict, the gesture received both praise and anger.
Over the span of 12 days, Israel has sent a slew of rockets and missiles at the blockaded Gaza area, claiming it to be an attempt to destroy underground tunnels used by Hamas to smuggle weapons into Gaza. They have since entered Gaza on the ground with tanks. According to The Guardian, the Palestinian death toll reached 247, they reported Friday.
Selena is not the first celebrity to post awareness of the conflict. But she is the first to not delete it. Rihanna tweeted "#FreePalestine" earlier this week, before deleting it eight minutes later, TMZ reported. Also, NBA star Dwight Howard tweeted the same hashtag, only to delete it and apologize, according to Daily News.
As the conflict rolls on, the two sides are still seeking a truce that both may agree on.
