Hot off of winning an Oscar for his latest movie, Her, Spike Jonze is deciding to in front of the camera instead of behind for his next effort, as he will be guest starring in an episode of Girls fourth season.
Not many details are known about Jonze's appearance, other than the fact that his character will be named Marcos, according to TVLine. He will be joining a couple new faces in the upcoming season of the HBO comedy, including Gillian Jacobs, Jason Ritter, Zachary Quinto and Natasha Lyonne.
Jonze will also be continuing the series' tradition of getting a prominent or upcoming actor for a brief appearance on the show. In season one, Mike Birbiglia made a brief cameo. In season two, Patrick Wilson showed up for an episode, as did Donald Glover for two. Throughout season two and three, there was the supporting appearance of another director, John Cameron Mitchell. Then there were a couple episodes with Gaby Hoffman and a single episode from June Squibb in season three.
Additionally, Jonze himself is no stranger to acting. He had a prominent supporting role in Three Kings, has appeared in make-up for a couple Jackass movies, and also recently showed up for a small role in The Wolf of Wall Street. Plus, he also had a unique on-screen appearance in one of his music videos, "Praise You" by Fatboy Slim.
