Are you tired of seeing the same familiar faces parading around with awards during Hollywood’s awards season? Well The CW has a cure for your boredom: an awards show for dogs.
Yes, the network announced today that it will air The World Dog Awards, a show that will mix the glamour of Hollywood awards shows with our love for a man’s best friend. The special will premiere in January 2015.
The World Dog Awards will honor the dogs we laughed at in YouTube videos and those who made us shed a tear on the big screen. Dogs that have served in the military and health services will also be toasted for their hard work.
Although no names were mentioned in the announcement, The CW said that dog-loving human stars will be recruited to hand out and even receive awards like “Best Actor in a Supporting Role to a Dog.” “Outstanding Achievement in the Field” will go to dogs who have courageously helped humans and other animals.
The event will take place at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California and is produced by Juma Entertainment.
All we can ask is... Is Uggie eligible?
