Sadly, Comic-Con International 2014 closed up shop on July 27, 2014. The yearly anticipated event in San Diego lasted five days. Attendees that purchased preview night badges were able to get into Comic-Con International Wednesday night. All other badge holders had access to the San Diego Convention Center from Thursday to Sunday night.

Game of Thrones announced its 5th Season cast. Fans were excited to see intimate clips from each of the new characters. This was a smart move on HBO’s part. Right away, fans can become emotionally invested in these new characters, and you can too! If you did not go to Comic-Con international this year, you can watch the new cast clip here. This was only one of many reveals over the weekend.

During The Hobbit panel, the cast shared bloopers. Most of the time, fans expect a trailer or exclusive look at the upcoming movie or show. I am positive that The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is going to be amazing, but we all know that actors do not get it right the first time every time. The only issue I have with The Hobbit is the fight sequences. They are not as authentic or as convincing as The Lord of the Rings. Sometimes, technological advances can hurt movies. This is only a small problem. It would not stop me from watching the third one. If you’re interested, you can watch the full panel here. The Hobbit was not the only movie sharing footage.

On Saturday, July 26, 2017, Marvel Studies released a sneak peak of Avengers 2. Before the preview, the cast was introduced to the fans. Robert Downey Jr. embodied Tony Stark. He was sharp, fresh, and ready for questions. Most of the cast dressed casually, but their appearance was appreciated. You can watch the entire panel here. By the way, Joss Whedon could not be there, because he injured himself. Feel free to send him well wishes on Twitter. Some injuries cannot be cured…like a zombie bite.

Biggie Smalls once said, “If you don’t know, now you know.” The Walking Dead were at Comic Con International and the 5th season trailer was released over the weekend. If you saw the season 4 finale, you know that things are going to get real this season. Since the beginning, AMC has provided mini movies every Sunday night. I cannot wait to see how this season plays out! Don’t forget to mark your calendar. Season 5 starts just in time for Halloween.

The remainder of this year and 2015 is shaping up to be a great year for movies and television.
